1. Will Real Madrid end La Liga on a high note?

It’s been a poor season in the domestic league for Real Madrid. As Real got off to a poor start to their La Liga campaign, Barcelona found themselves grinding away results and amassing a huge lead in the points tally. Real basically gave away La Liga before the winter break, gifting Barcelona a La Liga title through their sheer complacency.

Real Madrid finally managed to pick up some steam heading into the second half of the season. Zidane implemented a specific training plan ahead of Madrid’s clash with PSG, and the mid-season emphasis on fitness seems to have done wonders. Real Madrid now find themselves in their third consecutive Champions League final after a late-season turnaround in form.

With the match against Villarreal, Los Blancos have an opportunity to end La Liga on a high note. If Atletico Madrid are still experiencing a hangover from their Europa League win, and lose their match against Eibar, Madrid could eke out a second place La Liga finish if they win against Villarreal.
