Real Madrid: Sergio Reguilon delights in loan debut with Sevilla

On loan for the season with Sevilla, fullback Sergio Reguilon got off to a hot start scoring the club’s first goal of the season on the way to a 2-0 win over Espanyol. Real Madrid fans should keep a very close eye on this talented player.

In a stunning debut with his temporary club, left back Sergio Reguilon delighted the Sevilla faithful with a goal and an assist while playing the full 90 minutes on Sunday night against Espanyol. Earning an 8.62 rating from Who Scored, the young Spaniard was so impressive Zinedine Zidane will need to keep a close eye on him.

In his first season with the Real Madrid first team, the defender was dedicated to the badge and earned himself 14 appearances in La Liga.

Now with Sevilla, there is a great chance Reguilon makes a name for himself and throws his name in the hat to be the starter for Los Blancos once Marcelo decides to move on.

Ferland Mendy is the back up to the Brazilian star this season and based on what we have seen from both Mendy and Reguilon, the competition should be fierce between these two up and comers.

Reguilon did not look like a 22-year-old with a new team in his first league match as he was confident jumping into the attack and defended admirably on his way to earning Man of the Match honors.

He was in the right place at the right to score the opening goal and he set up Nolito brilliantly for the late second goal to put the match out of reach. Completing 80 percent of his passes is another stat that should not be overlooked here.
