Real Madrid attacking midfielder Isco has been mentioned in transfer rumors throughout the 2019-2020 campaign, and his recent performances make him a more attractive option to top clubs.
The likes of Arsenal, Manchester United, Juventus, and Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City have all been linked to Real Madrid playmaker Isco, who now has another Premier League club linked to him this campaign.
According to a report from El Desmarque’s Jorge Santos, Real Madrid have received a 52 million euro offer from Chelsea for Isco. Teams are interested in signing the player in either the winter or summer transfer window, though it would seem highly unlikely for Florentino Perez to give a green light to a sale in the middle of the season.
Last month, a deal involving Isco seemed more feasible than it does heading into 2020. That’s because Isco has significantly upped his performances and is playing at the level Real Madrid fans know he is capable of.
He played key roles in big matches with PSG and Barcelona, looking like the team’s most effective attacking option in El Clasico. The Spain international even had a highlight-reel play in the goalless draw, setting up Karim Benzema for a shot on target with a nutmeg backheel.
Chelsea’s interest in Isco isn’t surprising, since he’s an extremely talented player. But they also have other talented attacking players who are younger, such as Mason Mount. A 52 million euro fee isn’t cheap, but it’s the kind of money Isco is worth.
Per the report from El Desmarque, Perez would prefer to sell James Rodriguez, who has been effective this season but is not as favored by Zinedine Zidane. Furthermore, James is one year older and is currently dealing with another injury. Between the two players, Isco is the more attractive option for Chelsea, who have money to spend now that their transfer ban has been lifted. The Blues are ready to resume being a powerhouse in the Premier League.
Transfer rumors regarding Isco will heat up during the winter period, but fans should not expect the player to move until next summer. And even then, Isco looks like a star player that Los Blancos will want to keep, especially since Zidane values him above the rest.
