Raphael Varane

Is he a center back or a striker?

Rafa Varane had an incredible month both on the defensive and offensive ends. He was consistent in his defending and he managed to score twice! He scored a beauty against Getafe to kick off the new year and was clinical in his finishing in the win over Zaragoza in the Copa round of 16.

More. Raphael Varane is already one of the greats. light

Varane and Sergio Ramos have been so consistent at the back it has made the goalkeeper’s job that much easier.

What’s funny is that opponents will now need to mark Varane more closely on corner kicks since he has been so consistent rising up for headers and putting shots on target. I never thought I would see the day where Varane was more of a threat in front of goal than the captain Ramos, but here we stand.
