Real Madrid: A player from each La Liga club to target
Villarreal CM Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa
Real Madrid should be in the market for a backup defensive midfielder for Casemiro in the 2020-2021 season. Casemiro was the best player in La Liga after the usual suspect, Lionel Messi, but he was getting burned out by the end of the season due to his sheer workload.
Eduardo Camavinga is Real’s first-choice option, but he may not be available. If Real need to go with a more budget-friendly signing, Villarreal center midfielder Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa could be ideal.
Anguissa is 24, and the Cameroon international is coming off a tremendous season for Villarreal. He averaged 2.2 tackles per game, 1.2 interceptions per game, and 2.4 dribbles per game. A great all-round defensive midfielder, Anguissa’s intelligence and intensity could make him a steal for Los Blancos.
Granada DM Yangel Herrera
Another defensive midfielder from a top 10 club in La Liga, Yangel Herrera has flown under the radar but is a highly physical and talented player. Herrera is 22 years old but not on the radar of most clubs, so his transfer value sits at a mere nine million euros.
The Venezuela international has averaged an outstanding 3.2 tackles per game and 1.2 interceptions per game for Granada. He fouls too much, but Herrera is a great defensive player who causes so many problems for opponents.
