Vinicius Junior having another big game

Vinicius Junior has produced in so many big games this season. When Real Madrid faced Atletico Madrid in La Liga this past February, he came off the bench at the half and created the decisive goal in the 1-0 win. A month later, Vini was the best player on the pitch in the Clasico, scoring the first goal in a 2-0 victory. And last Sunday, he was the best player on the pitch in another must-win matchup against Real Sociedad, drawing the penalty that Sergio Ramos converted to give Real a 1-0 lead in a 2-1 win.

This past Wednesday, Vinicius Junior scored the opening goal in a 2-0 win yet again, delivering the goods via a world-class chip. He came agonizingly close to scoring a second chipped goal, too, and was a constant threat to the Mallorca defense.

Espanyol won’t stand a chance against the 19-year-old Brazilian if he’s back in the lineup on Sunday, and given the form he’s in and the energy he has, Madridistas have reason to believe he’ll start. He’s become a crucial player to the team and has been one of the most impressive players in the squad since the year 2020 began.

If there’s some way for Vinicius Junior and Eden Hazard to start at the same time and tear it up together, you had better believe Zinedine Zidane will be the one to figure it out.
