Real Madrid: Player ratings from a 2-2 draw against Leganes
Defenders
Lucas Vazquez -4.5/10
Vazquez had a torrid time deputizing for Carvajal on the right-back position. He did not look comfortable playing out of position, and Zidane will have to think long and hard if he plans to continue with the Spaniard as a backup for Carvajal.
Leganes targeted Vazquez and directed the majority of their attacks through his side of the field. The Spaniard got caught out of position often and struggled defensively throughout the game. Vazquez lost possession four times and got dribbled past three times.
Eder Militao – 6.5/10
Militao looked good at the back and had a lot to do, especially in the second half. He seemed comfortable playing next Sergio Ramos and had an excellent first half.
In the second half, Leganes overran Real Madrid’s midfield and created a flurry of chances. He did well to combat most of them but got caught wrong-footed in the lead-up to Los Pepineros’ second goal.
Militao completed six clearances, had four successful tackles, and won two aerial duels.
Sergio Ramos 8/10
Ramos only played for the first 45 minutes and continued with his recent run of good form. He kept things clean and denied Leganes’s forwards much space.
El Capitan scored the Merengues’ opening goal with a fine header following Isco’s delivery.
Ferland Mendy – 7.5/10
Ferland Mendy continues to be consistent at the back and a secure pick for Zidane at the left-back position. He rarely lets anything get past him. The French defender made four clearances, one tackle, and one clearance in the match.
Mendy also looked competent in attack and created numerous overlaps and movements to help his team in the final third. He completed three dribbles and provided two key passes.
