Midfielders

Luka Modric – 7/10

The Croatian international keeps defying his age and keeps churning out high-level performances. Luka Modric had a brilliant first half as he helped his team control the game and get out of pressure. The former Balon d’Or winner completed 91 percent of his passes along with three key passes.

However, Real Madrid’s lack of a proper pre-season meant that Modric’s impact dwindled as the game wore on, and he got replaced by Casemiro around the 70th minute.

Toni Kroos – 8/10

Toni Kroos was on top of his game as usual. He dictated the play and set the tempo of the game. The German sniper hardly put a foot wrong.

He completed 107 passes, the most in the game, with a 94% accuracy. Kroos was the best Real Madrid player on the pitch until he ran out of gas late in the second half.

Martin Odegaard – 7/10

Every Madridistas had their eyes on Martin Odegaard’s first match back in Real Madrid shirt, and he did not disappoint. It was not his best game, but the Norwegian showed a lot of promise.

Odegaard floated around in front of Kroos and Modric freely and played some deft one-touch passes. He had two key passes in the match.
