Toni Kroos would not quit

Real Madrid center midfielder Toni Kroos has been one of the team’s best players this season and has reestablished himself as one of the best players at his position on the planet. He was tremendous in this 2-2 draw, assisting both goals. And he should have had a third assist for a win, if it weren’t for Vinicius Junior’s poor finishing.

Kroos’ body language was impassioned. You could tell he did not want Real to go down without fighting tooth and nail for the three points. All season long, Kroos has given his all for the club he loves, and he’s honestly been let down by a number of players who are not good enough. And worse yet, there are some players on the team who do not seem to care about winning half as much as Kroos does.

No matter. Kroos does not care or complain. He leads by example on the pitch and lets his play do the talking.

In addition to the assists, Kroos had 3 key passes, 5 crosses, 9 of 12 long balls completed, and 109 total pass attempts with nearly 95 percent completed, per WhoScored.com. Those are fantastic numbers. Real Madrid needed Kroos at his best, and he did not let the team down. He deserved three points for his performance but will have to settle for one.
