DANI CEBALLOS

Dani Ceballos was once considered one of the most promising talents in European football. He showed the world his talent with Spain in the U-21 Euro’s but has not really lived up to the hype since then. His career at Real Madrid was short-lived before being loaned out to Arsenal.

At the Emirates, Ceballos has had his moments of genius and brilliance. However, he’s had more bad days than good days with the Gunners which proves that consistency is a factor that Ceballos struggles with.

The former Betico midfielder does not want another loan spell and believes it’s time for him to cement a place at Madrid. While Luka Modric and Toni Kroos remain indispensable, Ancelotti can consider keeping hold of Ceballos for bench strength by handing him a sporadic role. All in all, there’s no guarantee that Dani has a future at Real Madrid and only time will tell what Ancelotti has in place for the midfielder.

GARETH BALE

Some time ago, when Carlo Ancelotti’s appointment was announced, I had written an article on how it could possibly turn out to be a lifeline for Gareth Bale and his career at Real Madrid. Look, some fans love him and some hate him for reasons I do not wish to get into, but you simply cannot deny that’s he’s been one of our best signings after Cristiano Ronaldo.

There’s no denying that Bale is no longer the same player he once was. However, in my opinion, I’d rather watch a “washed up” Gareth Bale on the right-wing rather than watching Marco Asensio or any other winger Real Madrid currently has. Bale had a mixed season at Tottenham but managed to slot in 16 goals in all competitions. His Euro 2020 campaign wasn’t all that good apart from that stellar performance against Turkey.

With that being said, it’s not yet all over for Bale. He’s still got a year on his contract and I hope to see him play out his final year at Madrid provided Mbappe does not sign. Until then, Bale’s future continues to remain uncertain.
