Real Madrid: Ranking the club’s four most valuable player-swap assets
1. VINICIUS JUNIOR
Vinicius Junior was signed by Real Madrid in the summer of 2018 when he was just 18 years old. At a fee of 46 million euros, he wasn’t the cheapest of young investments. He’s had his ups, but there have been downs as well, just like with any other talented youngster.
Vinicius is a great player, and he has the attributes that enable him to play for a big club. He is full of pace and explosiveness. However, the one aspect of play that is pulling him back at Madrid is his finishing.
It may have to do with the tremendous pressure he is surrounded with at Real Madrid. To be honest, Real isn’t the club where struggling youngsters can be expected to find their footing and develop their game. Real is a place that demands the best out of players, so I can see why it may have a toll on his decision making in front of goal.
Nonetheless, he would have a good appeal for UCL clubs, making him a valuable player-swap asset. Especially when Real Madrid is looking for an attacking addition to the squad, Vinicius could be a great asset to include in that deal. All he needs is a club where the pressure levels are comparatively lower and a manager who could help him work through his finishing woes.
However, there is one hurdle in Vini’s case. Real Madrid could again be hesitant to swap him yet, as has been reported. With a player of Vinicius’s promise, it would be a hard call to let him go. A loan move still could be a possibility for his future.
Either way, if at all a swap happens, Vinicius Junior can prove to be the most valuable swap-asset for the club among the chosen lot.
