Real Madrid: Possible landing spots for Takefusa Kubo in La Liga
Levante
Levante finished 14th in La Liga last season. They did manage to beat Real Madrid, but didn’t really do that well in other games. Kubo would be a great fit in there. It would be a fairly safe choice for the Japanese.
The club finished 14th, they want improvement. They would want to score more goals if they can’t stop them from going into their own net. Kubo can help them a lot in that regard.
The two players that played on the right flank the most for Levante were Jorge De Frutos and Ruben Rochina. They had a combined total of four goals and 10 assists. That’s not a great return, and if Kubo gets the nod over them, he might be able to provide more. He’ll compete with Jorge De Frutos for a spot in the starting XI, which should increase production from both the players.
Given the position they’re in, they shouldn’t mind giving Kubo a license to prioritize attack over defense. It won’t be completely like what he had at Mallorca, but I think Kubo would have a bit more freedom in making sure that the attack is working out well, so it might work out for him at Levante. Look at it as kind of like the middle ground between a side like Mallorca — which was kind of in shambles, in a positional sense — and Villarreal, a team that had a great system that allowed them to lift the Europa League in Unai Emery’s first season there.
The potential option to not worry about the defense because of what he provides in the attack makes it a comparatively safer option for the Japanese International. There’s no rumor about Real Madrid negotiating with Levante, but that could change, who knows?
