Real Madrid: Possible landing spots for Takefusa Kubo in La Liga
Real Sociedad
Real Sociedad is the most likely option for Takefusa Kubo, and is also the most challenging. Real Sociedad is the best team on this list, by some distance. Even after losing Martin Odegaard, they made a couple of great purchases and were leading the La Liga race for a bit at the start. Of course, they couldn’t really sustain it, but they did a great job finishing so high up the league table.
It also has the most competition, and it’s a team that will force Kubo to level up and play the way he’s supposed to play every game. He won’t get many minutes at first, but he will need to accept that.
This is kind of like Kubo’s loan spell at Villarreal. But if he gets his move to Sociedad, he will have the opportunity to show that he has grown. He’ll have the opportunity to do things right, correct the things he did wrong at Villarreal. This team plays in a proper system, and Kubo will not get the freedom to roam around in the attacking third. He’ll have to operate in a confined space, and if he can do that, great, if not, then it’ll be another failed loan spell, and I don’t think Real Madrid, Real Sociedad, or Kubo himself would want that.
Real Sociedad are also rumored to be pretty interested in attaining Kubo’s services from Real Madrid for a season, and I’ve explained in detail why it would be a great choice for all parties involved. If it materializes, Kubo will get a chance not many players get, and that will be because of the flashes of talent he has shown, and the performances at Olympics.
