Real Madrid might need to add to their midfield department in the near future. The long-term futures of Luka Modric and Toni Kroos are still unclear. While the Croatian international is 37 years of age and in the twilight of his career, rumours have suggested that the German midfield maestro is already contemplating retirement. Dani Ceballos has been in superb form in recent weeks, but his current deal runs out at the end of the campaign and an extension is yet to be agreed.

Thus all things considered, the middle of the park could look different for Real Madrid in the not too distant future. And one player that they seem to be keeping an eye on is Marcelo Brozovic.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, the name of Brozovic is on the notebooks of Barcelona, Real Madrid and Chelsea. Juventus are keeping an eye on the situation of the Croatian midfielder as well. Inter Milan are believed to rate him at a transfer fee around €30 million.

The 30-year-old had been a key part of this Inter Milan team for a long time, but has struggled with fitness problems this season.

Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea and Juventus all linked with midfielder

In the absence of Brozovic, Inter Milan’s results have not really taken a dip. And it looks like the Italian club are now open to the idea of letting the midfielder go.

While Brozovic might have had his fitness problems recently, there is no doubt that he is one of the best defensive midfielders on the planet when fit and in form.

It would also make sense for Real Madrid to bring in someone experienced, if either Modric or Kroos do not continue at the club next season. But at the same time, it is hard to see them offering a transfer fee around €30 million for Brozovic, considering he is already 30 years of age. Los Blancos have added veteran players in recent years, but they have arrived as free agents.
