Manchester United and Real Madrid have done plenty of business over the years, with much of it favoring the Royal Whites. David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo are two of the icons who have made the jump from Old Trafford to the Santiago Bernabeu in years past, and in more recent transfer windows, Los Blancos have sold high profile players to Man United in Raphael Varane and Casemiro - the latter remaining a key player for the Red Devils to this day.

Well, Man United still have designs on bringing a star from Real Madrid, and they have consistently been linked to French defensive midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni, who could be United's heir to Case, just as he was for Real Madrid after their 2021/22 Champions League title triumph.

Tchouameni, who is also linked to United's Premier League rivals Liverpool, is a dream target for Michael Carrick and the Red Devils in 2026 to bolster a midfield that needs to replace transfer flops like Mason Mount and Manuel Ugarte.

Manchester United are in love with Real Madrid star

According to the latest information from Fabrizio Romano, via mufcmpb, while Manchester United are huge fans of Aurelien Tchouameni and are in love with him as a potentially perfect fit to replace Casemiro, there are two problems making a transfer from Real Madrid difficult.

The first is the fact that Real Madrid are not interested in selling Tchouameni. Florentino Perez and the club are not at all concerned about the locker room incident between himself and fellow star center midfielder Fede Valverde. Real Madrid, as of right now, fully intend on keeping Tchouameni this summer, particularly with a new coach coming in to evaluate him in Jose Mourinho (also a former Man United manager).

And the other issue is that of wages, which is probably not as big a problem, given Man United's financial power. Tchouameni currently makes 12.5 million euros per season, which is quite the annual investment from Real Madrid. Again, Man United should be able to afford that, but under the new ownership, they are becoming increasingly cautious about throwing a lot of money at players.

Real Madrid still need to see more development from Tchouameni and are actually interested in other holding midfielders like Premier League stars Enzo Fernandez and Rodri, but with no better options, Tchouameni, a favorite of Florentino Perez's, is safe at the Santiago Bernabeu until further notice. But for Man United, he is definitely still worth pursuing in case things change.
