There has been lots of turmoil and uncertainty over the future of Isco at Real Madrid. Now, it appears that the 24 year-old Spanish midfielder, who has started 11 of the 21 La Liga matches thus far this season, may be on his way to England or Italy to a team where he would get more playing time regularly.

Isco said following Saturday’s 2-0 win over Espanyol that he “has a decision to make” in regards to his future at the club and the future of his career. As it stands now, Isco’s contract keeps him with the 11 time European Champions until June 2018 but, Isco has said that he will reevaluate his standing with the club and his manager some time this summer and make a decision.

“I’m calm. What worries me is to have minutes. A player’s career is small. I’m happy here and would stay many more years,” he told beIN SPORTS. “From now until the end of the season, we will make a decision. It is my future at stake.”

Isco has legitimate reason to be upset with the amount of minutes he’s been getting because, like James Rodriguez, Isco should be getting regular minutes and starting at a top tier European club. And despite loving Real Madrid and everything about the club and wearing the white shirt, Isco still wants to leave because of Zidane’s inability to regularly give the Spaniard the minutes he thinks he deserves.

The list of possible landing spots for Isco is enticing as Chelsea, Manchester City, and Juventus have all voiced interest in acquiring the talented attacking midfielder, according to Marca

It was back towards September when Real Madrid were considering transferring Isco, but then decided against it and offer the midfielder a contract extension. However, Isco didn’t sign with the goal in mind to get more consistent minutes or maybe start regularly. And, since that hasn’t happened since the contract talks in September, Isco is open to hearing offers from the three major clubs listed above.

Manager Zinedine Zidane has praised Isco’s attitude as playing as a backup and the manager has enjoyed using him as a substitute, but understands the frustration from the player.

“We cannot talk about what will happen in July. I do not know yet. We are focused on winning games now, and we will see what happens in the summer,” Zidane told a press conference this week. “There is no problem and [Isco] has said that too. He is very committed to what he is doing at the moment. He knows I like him as a player and count on him.”

“If a player plays 25 games in a row then is left out for one, he won’t be happy. I was the same.”

After all the rumors that swirled around the football world in 2016, I’m skeptical to make any assumptions or judgement on the situation. I, like Zidane, will stay focused on the coming games and finishing the season, then worry about possible players leaving in the summer.
