After an impressive performance in the Champions League earlier this week, Real Madrid were able to follow up their win at Napoli to win in theSantiago Bernabéu over Real Betis 2-1. There’s a lot to talk about regarding player ratings, so let’s get into it:

Zinedine Zidane- 8/10

Zinedine Zidane gets major points for deviating from his usual game plan. We saw the match start with the good old 4-3-3 formation, but that soon shifted into a 4-4-2 and 4-2-2-2. It was a breath of fresh air to see both Isco and James Rodriguez in their favored positions and Real Madrid looked absolutely terrifying going forward because of it. Later on that formation changed even further, turning into a 4-1-3-2. It’s good to see Zidane deviate from what seemed like the only formation he could make work. Great substitutions sealed his rating.
