Goalkeeper/Defenders
Keylor Navas- 6/10
If there was ever a match to perfectly exemplify Keylor Navas’s time at Real Madrid, it was this match. Navas had one of his career lows when he accidentally pawed the ball into his own net after stopping a shot from Sanabria, giving Betis the lead. He was also lucky not to be red carded following a weird and unnecessary foul on Real Betis forward Ruben Castro. He slowly recovered throughout the match, and then had the best moment of the match: a beautiful stop in the last play of stoppage time that saved Real Madrid from dropping points and secured the win.
Another note of interest is that Navas had not given up an own goal in his entire career until this match.

Marcelo- 8/10
Marcelo looked as dominant as ever. He was a constant menace on the left-wing and continues to show us why he’s one of the best wing backs in the game. He also provided a beautiful assist for Cristiano Ronaldo’s equalizer in the first half.
Sergio Ramos- 9/10 (MOTM)
Another match, another clutch goal from the team captain to secure the win. It’s incredible to see that Ramos is on the verge of a 15+ goal season, but it’s bound to happen. After tonight’s goal, the center back has scored 10 goals across all competitions, and that’s not counting the goal he scored that was counted as an own goal by Mertens vs Napoli. Hid defending was solid and he showed great leadership at the start of the second half by passing the ball back to Navas and asking the whole stadium to give Navas support in order to lift his spirits after the bizarre first goal.
Football is a simple game. 22 men chase a ball for 90 minutes and, at the end, Sergio Ramos scores a late headed winner from a corner.

Nacho- 7.5/10
Real Madrid are a club where everyone seems to be a big star. Nacho is the odd man out. Not quite world-class, but good enough to fight for a spot on the team. The jack-of-all-trades defender had a good night and did what was required. Sometimes, Real Madrid need exactly that: a reliable defender that gets the job done.
Carvajal- 7/10
Dani Carvajal was involved throughout the whole game, but unfortunately he wasn’t as great when it came to his accuracy. His crosses had that distinct Carvajal clinical accuracy missing from them. He still managed to have a solid night and offered raw strength when needed in important last-minute tackles.
