Real Madrid are keen on signing the 17 year-old starlet midfielder Alan from Palmeiras, reports indicate. The news of Real Madrid putting feelers out for Alan come in the wake of a stunning game from the Brazilian in the under-17 South American Championship against Chile where Alan scored a hat-trick in Brazil’s final game. Ben Sundock tells you more on the potential transfer.
Crafty, intelligent on the ball, and possessing fantastic dribbling abilities, are a few traits that I feel fit Alan after watching several of his highlight videos. At just 17 years-old, Alan looks like a seasoned veteran from the Brazilian national team playing among a bunch of children.
Alan Souza Guimaraes was by far the best player at the U-17 South American Championship, as he scored three goals and added six assists to help Brazil capture the title for the 12th time.

Alan has been on the Real Madrid radar for sometime now, AS reports, with Alan first garnering the attention of Real Madrid scouts and personnel when he came to Madrid to play against the Bernabéu’s junior C team in Madrid in the final of the under-17 Club World Cup in 2016.
The only potential setback for Los Blancos could be the €50 million buyout in Alan’s current contract with the Brazilian club, which is set to expire in 2019.
What Real Madrid are hoping to do, is sign Alan on a pre-arranged contract, and wait for his contract to expire with Palmeiras, in order to save a lot of money on the transfer.
It is clear where manager Zinedine Zidane’s head is right now, as this is yet another young player who Los Blancos are looking to bring in before they hit the prime of their careers.
Alanzinho as he’s called in Brazil reminds me of a smaller Toni Kroos with more pace. The shifty midfielder is very calm and daring on the ball, using great foot skill and quick touches to get around defenders and open lanes for his teammates.
The main reason I draw the connection between Alan and Kroos is because of his ability to take free kicks, like Kroos, and make great passes between the midfield and the attack, or the midfield and the defense.
Because of his incredible foot skills, Alan is well known in Brazil for his ability to draw fouls and set his team up in a good position.
Real Madrid have clearly chosen a young guy with a lot of potential to pursue, making this a very realistic deal that could happen in a couple of summers.
To add even more fuel to the fire, reports from Marca‘s José Félix Díaz tell us that Alan’s agent, Juan Figer, met with Real Madrid president Florentino Perez and CEO Jose Angel Sanchez recently, leading many to believe that a deal is coming some time in the near future.
The pictures from Figer’s Instagram prove that the three met a week ago to discuss the young Brazilian.
