There has been a lot of speculation recently regarding the lead striker role at Real Madrid. With the recent talks that Kylian M’Bappe has made a gentleman’s agreement with head coach Zinedine Zidane about joining Los Blancos in the near future, and Karim Benzema having been rumored to be leaving the club in the summer transfer window, we here at the Real Champs got together to talk about who we think is more probable to join Real Madrid: M’Bappe or Aubameyang.

I’m gonna go with M’Bappe. M’Bappe fits what Real Madrid need more than Aubameyang does. I say that, because M’Bappe doesn’t need constant service to produce results. He is equally adept at shooting as he is passing, and that goes a long way when you have attacking powerhouses like Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale on both sides.
The point I’m trying to make, is that M’Bappe is the perfect replacement for Benzema, even more so than Morata. Morata is great, but he also needs to be provided service in order to get his maximum output, which is why he works out better in a two striker formation.

When it comes to M’Bappe vs Aubameyang, I think Perez is much more likely to pull the trigger on M’Bappe. If you had asked me this question earlier in the season, I would have said Aubameyang. However, Perez is often attracted to the shiniest, newest object around, and M’Bappe will be no different. Aubameyang is, in terms of media hype, old news. With M’Bappe lighting up the Champions League in Monaco’s performances over Manchester City, I’d expect Perez to jump on the hype train (choo choo!) and pick the young frenchman.

I agree with with Alex. Perez always preferw younger talents, and that is the sole reason why M’Bappe would be chosen over Aubameyang if Benzema left.
If I had to choose, I’d go with Aubameyang. However, it’s always more likely that Perez will sign whoever is being hyped up at the moment. My vote goes for M’Bappe being the more likely transfer. That being said, it’s highly unlikely that Benz will be sold.

To play devil’s advocate, and go against everyone, I think Real Madrid sign Aubameyang. Auba has consistently voiced his desire to play for Madrid, honoring a promise made to his late grandfather, and telling the media he would love to one day play for the Spanish giants.
I think that, like everyone has said, signing M’Bappe makes more sense and is a more logical move for the long term future of the club. But, I think Florentino Perez and the Real Madrid executives are more likely to lean towards a big name player, who is already established as a superstar, like Aubameyang.
Losing Karim Benzema would indicate to me that Perez would like for another big name, #1 striker at another club to bring in and have an immediate impact in the lineup. That guy is Aubameyang.
Just imagine the pace of the forwards, Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale, and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. It would be a track meet up front.
