The stage is set for the Champions League semifinals after a great four quarterfinal ties. Here’s all the info you need on Real Madrid‘s potential opponents and the upcoming draw.

Real Madrid were able to defeat Bayern Munich to advance to the Champions League semifinals. Real Madrid will be looking to book their ticket to their third Champions League final in four years. They are also still in the running to become the first team to win back-to-back Champions League titles since the invention of the modern tournament.
We now know Real Madrid’s potential opponents: Monaco, Juventus, and Atletico Madrid.
Monaco defeated Dortmund 3-1 today, 6-3 on aggregate. They will be making their first appearance in the semifinals since 2004, and the first appearance of any French team since Lyon in 2010.

Real Madrid’s cross-town rivals Atletico Madrid ended Leicester City’s European adventure. Real Madrid has defeated Atleti in two of the last three Champions League finals, so it’s a bit foreboding that both have lasted to this far in the tournament. Atleti and Real are the last two teams remaining in the Champions League from Spain.
That comes on the back of Barcelona’s elimination at the hands of Juventus following a 0-0 draw at the Camp Nou. Juve’s three goals in Turin were enough to see the Italians through, as Buffon extended his streak of not allowing any goals to be scored by Lionel Messi.
Real Madrid will learn their semifinal opponents this Friday when UEFA holds the draw. Be sure to check back with us here at The Real Champs for more content regarding the draw soon.
