The Madrid-born attacker is set to join Serie A side A.C. Milan after a 12-month spell with Real Madrid. The news breaks from Gazzetta Dello Sport, which also cites that Morata agreed to 7.5 million annual wages.

The move would be Morata’s second stint in Italy, as he was previously employed by current champions Juventus, a stint that accumulated 2 years (2014-2016).

At the beginning of the 2016 season, Real Madrid used a buy-back option of 25 million euros to secure his services once again. At the time of his return, is was widely reported that Madrid used to buy-back option just to sell Morata the following year for more income.

While that would be some smart but unethical business decisions, Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane quietly assured Alvaro that the Santiago Bernabeu is his home. Spanish outlet AS says the Frenchman asked for Alvaro to stay and even promised him more game time next season.

During the title celebrations, Morata needed to be consoled by players and staff alike as he was brought to tears. Some media pundits say he was overwhelmed with the thought of leaving.

In the current campaign, Morata lifted the La Liga title and was second on the team in goals, with 20. It is clear that he wants to succeed in the Spanish capital but will more minutes convince the striker of a move away?

My guess is Alvaro Morata dawns the all-white kit come next year and stays at his home, Real Madrid.
