Matthijs de Ligt – Defender

Matthijs de Ligt is a Dutch defender currently playing for Ajax.

De Ligt is probably the least likely on this list to actually end up at Madrid, but he comes at a position Madrid in which has the most unpredictable future.

Besides Ramos, Varane, and Vallejo, there is not much certainty at the center back spot for Los Blancos. Also, Sergio Ramos is starting to get up in age.

More from The Real Champs

That is why the young 17-year-old Dutch CB would be a perfect addition.

De Ligt currently sees regular first team minutes at Ajax, which is no small feat. Since he is at Ajax, that also means he most likely is the real deal talent wise and is being trained by some of the best youth developers in the world, if not the best.

De Ligt hasn’t had the best start to his international career. After being handed a debut by Holland’s coach Danny Blind in a World Cup qualifier, de Ligt had a role to play in conceding two goals to Bulgaria.

Nevertheless, de Ligt is still a promising prospect. At just 17, de Ligt has tons of years ahead of him, so it would be best of Real snatches him up now.

What younger talents would like to Real sign and possibly stash away for when they need them?
