Dani Ceballos – Midfielder

Ceballos is the most recent acquisition to Real on this list, and boy is he an exciting traditional midfielder. Ceballos was most recently purchased from Real Betis for a fee around $21 million. Dani has been on Los Blanco’s radar for awhile now.

The reason they most likely made the decision to jump on him now was that of the recent interest shown by Barcelona and his miraculous U-21 performances with Spain. A side that already featured three Real Madrid first team players.

Ceballos is very capable of holding the midfield, attacking or defending; he can really do it all at a young age. I hate to make this drastic comparison, but he really reminds me of a younger Luka Modric or Paul Pogba. Not quite as good yet, but the potential is definitely there when you watch him. It will be tough to fit the 21-year-old in games this season as Real only plays with 3 midfielders, and he is likely the 4th or 5th choice despite his quality. Nonetheless, he is a fantastic talent and will soon be a mainstay in the starting 11.
