Real Madrid have been battering their opponents lately, and have so much talent in the squad. Unfortunately, not all of them can play at once, but here are three formations and lineups I’d like to see take the pitch for Real this season.

Lineup’s & Formations

3 – 5 – 2

Starting XI: Navas, Vallejo, Ramos, Varane, Modric, Marcelo, Kroos, Casemiro, Isco, Asensio, Ronaldo.

Real Madrid have a LOADED midfield with not just starters, but depth. So a lot of the time some of the guys don’t get the playing time they deserve. This formation allows Madrid to use FOUR of their midfielders in a formation that should result in absolute possession domination. The linking in the midfield between Kroos, Casemiro,

The linking in the midfield between Kroos, Casemiro, Modric, and Isco should be unpenetrable. Then Marcelo on the left wing will track back and forth and do what he normally does, but more so of a central “roaming” defender. The back line works perfectly because Vallejo and Ramos are very good passing out of the back, especially Jesus. Jesus linking up to Isco when passing out would be awesome.

Up front, you have Ronaldo on his traditional left side, and Asensio on the right should bang in tons of goals.

4 – 2 – 3 – 1

Starting XI: Navas, Marcelo, Ramos, Varane, Carvajal, Asensio, Casemiro, Kroos, Modric, Isco, Ronaldo.

This is a formation I could definitely see being effective in the Champions League group stages.

The individual talent in this lineup would be so good it would run through teams. Also, the switch up and attacking power you have because how good Isco and Modric are at tracking back and Asensio’s high work rate never leaves you vulnerable.

Nothing changes as far as the defensive end goes, typical back four. As far as the midfield goes, it is going to be as solid as rock. Casemiro will allow Kroos to open up and Toni will in return slice the opposing defense and midfield like a hot knife through butter. It’ll be so fluid it will have said verbal gymnast screaming alliterations. The front attack is also superb. You have Isco being able to feed both his left and his right with Asensio and Modric being there, and all three of them can feed none other than Ronaldo. Sheesh, I might go try this out on FIFA it seems so good.

4-4-1 –

Starting XI: Casilla, Theo, Varane, Vallejo, Nacho, Ceballos, Llorente, Kovacic, Vazquez, Isco, Asensio.

This lineup is purely for the kids. The midfield is held by Mateo and Llorente while Ceballos stretches out wide with Vazquez. Ceballos played a lot of LM in his time at Real Betis too, so it won’t be a problem. Isco will kinda be the old man of the bunch and lead the attack. I also would like to see this lineup because I am very interested to see how Asensio would do as a lone attacker or striker.
