Real Madrid have received nearly two dozen offers for Marcos Llorente

The nice thing about LaLiga is having one extra day to make transfers. With the window set to close tomorrow night, Real Madrid have lots of options if they want to sell or loan out central defensive midfielder Marcos Llorente. Let’s take a look at the details.
According to a source close to the club, Real Madrid have received about 20 offers from teams around Europe who are interested in either buying Marcos Llorente or signing him on loan.
Marca are reporting that such clubs as Sevilla, Valencia, Atletico Madrid, and PSG have come calling for the young Spanish player’s signature before the window closes tomorrow. Llorente had a great season last year while on loan with Deportivo Alaves and was considered by many to be the second best CDM behind Casemiro in all of Spain.
I reported about two weeks ago that Marcos was likely on his way out of the club after not making much of an impact in training or in the preseason.
The source close to the club said of all the transfer inquiries, “That is considering that we have not replied to a single question in the past two weeks.” So, while Real have the option to sell the talented youngster, they might decide to hang on to him and see if he can work into the squad somehow.
The interest shown by 20 clubs across Europe shows to Zinedine Zidane and Florentino Perez that they likely have a very talented player in their possession, and might want to hold off on sending him to another team either permanently or even on a year long loan.
Based off of his highlights from last year at Alaves, Marcos definitely has the ability to be a regular starter almost anywhere in the world, he just needs some more constructive shaping. If he stays in Madrid, Zidane can be more hands on with Llorente’s development and find ways he can help the squad.
Real Madrid have already shown a clear shift in focus to wanting to play young players and sign young players, the choice to keep Llorente would further show that new desire to build talent from within the club.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Marcos Llorente is a great player and a very good young talent who I really like. I feel like he could very easily break into the squad in a year or two much like Mateo Kovacic has done in his time at the club.
We will have to wait and see what happens over the next 24 hours and whether Real decide to keep the young Spanish midfielder or loan him out again this year.
