After an incredible 2016/2017 with several Real Madrid players standing out, the new edition of EA Sports successful soccer title, FIFA 18, features 12 Real players in the top 100 in the game. Let’s take a close look at the 12 players who made the prestigious list and their ratings.

If you are anything like me, you have been waiting for the release of FIFA 18 for about three months now. Well, the good news is the game comes out in just about two and a half weeks so the long wait is nearly over!

To get us customers and football fans excited, EA Sports released the ratings of the top 100 players in the new game over the course of a couple days last week! You can find the full detailed ratings of all 100 players here.

Let’s jump into the ratings of all 12 Real Madrid players who made the list! Starting with the youngster.

96) Marco Asensio – 84 overall

At just 21-years-old, it is pretty remarkable that Asensio is considered one of the best in the gaming world and in the real world.

Listed as a center attacking midfielder, Asensio comes in at a cool 84 overall with four-star skill moves and a three-star weak foot. Listed as an 81 in FIFA 17, the three point jump in rating is well deserved for Marco and I think could be higher.

Asensio has a well deserved 83 passing and dribbling. I was a little underwhelmed with his shot rating of 79 after all the impressive goals he scored, but I understand the game designers not wanting to overrate the young talent.

87) Raphael Varane – 85 overall

Another young player in the Real Madrid to feature on the list is the center back Rafa Varane. As expected, Varane has solid pace for a defender at 79 and also has an 84 defending rating.

The French defender will be a popular choice among Ultimate Team fans and a regular starter for Zinedine Zidane this season. I can easily see his rating rising over the course of the year when he plays well.

73) Keylor Navas – 85 overall

After a rough stretch in the winter, Keylor returned to form and finished the season on fire. Couple that with his excellent start to the new campaign, Navas earned himself a solid 85 overall rating.

87 diving, 82 handling, 85 reflexes, and 80 positioning should earn him high marks among gamers.

71) Casemiro – 85 overall

The Brazilian brick wall Casemiro earns himself a rating equal to those of Varane and Navas. While his ratings of 84 for defending, and 86 physical are very deserving, I have to say I’m shocked at how low his shooting rating is at 68.

Especially after the types of goals he scored last year and already this year. Casemiro is one of the highest rated defensive midfielders and will have a big year this year.

He will likely see his rating go up as the year goes on.

56) Karim Benzema – 86 overall

Of all the Real players who made the top 100, this is the only one I disagree with. Karim didn’t have a great season a year ago and has still not proven to me or any fan that he can score regularly.

With four-star weak foot and skill moves, I’m a bit confused on how he is more skilled than Marco Asensio. Other than his nifty dribble move against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League knockout stage, I don’t think I’ve ever seen Karim dribble the ball a lot.

His 84 shooting is pretty nice, but I have never been very good at using the Big Benz in FIFA and usually end up selling him along in career mode. Nonetheless, it’s a good thing the starting striker for the team is so highly rated.

54) Isco – 86 overall

The Isco Disco dribbling show comes to FIFA 18 as the midfielder comes into the new edition of the game with 89 dribbling, 83 shooting (a little bit low), and 82 passing is respectable across the board.

He has been one of my favorite players to use in games past and I’m sure it will be very similar again this season.

38) Marcelo – 87 overall

The defender who isn’t really a defender continues to have great offensive numbers.

With 78 pace, 82 defending, 85 dribbling, and 80 passing, Marcelo will be an exact replica of his real life self.

Flying down the wings and helping provide crosses to Ronaldo, Bale, and Benz in the middle will be a beautiful sight in the video game world.

17) Gareth Bale – 89 overall

Many critics will say that Bale is overrated and doesn’t deserve this rating. However, I have to disagree.

He still has incredible pace (94) and is always a threat on goal. With 87 shooting, 86 dribbling, and 84 passing, Gareth is likely to be the second best winger in the game.

12) Luka Modric – 89 overall

The Croatian maestro is level with Bale but much better I would say. He can control the ball so well, has great balance, and great at passing (86).

With four-star weak foot and four-star skill moves and an 89 dribbling rating, Modric will be by far one of the best midfielders in the game and he deserves it. The only player he might not be as good as is his teammate, Toni Kroos.

9) Toni Kroos – 90 overall

Five-star weak foot? Oh my!
88 passing? I think it could be higher but still, wow!

81 dribbling and shooting? You bet!

This has been one of the best signings Real Madrid have made in years and the German international continues to show out. The guys at EA Sports recognize that.

7) Sergio Ramos – 90 overall

The captain is the highest rated defensive player in the entire game. Well deserving for sure, Ramos comes in at a 90 overall.

88 defending and 83 physical makes Ramos lethal on both ends of the field. His heading accuracy and power will likely be the highest in the game based on what he’s done over the past few years and will be a lot like Marcelo in being a fantastic two-way defender.

1) Cristiano Ronaldo – 94 overall

The best in the world is the best in the game.

The GOAT Cristiano Ronaldo comes in at first overall on the rankings after a phenomenal season last year, earning himself a spot on the cover of this year’s game.

With four-star weak foot, five-star skill moves, 90 pace, 93 shooting, and 82 passing, Ronaldo is such a beast in this game it will be nearly impossible to stop him.

Listed as a left winger, CR7 can move centrally and take cracking shots with both feet and is incredibly fast when doing so. His high work rate on the attacking end will make him scary, scary good.

I can’t wait to get my hands on this game and play with all these incredible players.
