Can Ronaldo (finally) start scoring in La Liga?

I’ve been asking for a while now whether Cristiano Ronaldo might open up his La Liga scoring account for the season, but it still hasn’t happened. Against Betis, I looked forward to Ronaldo’s return following a lengthy suspension. Against Alavés, I asked whether Ronaldo would start scoring. Yet again the question remained when Real Madrid took on Espanyol.

But alas, here we are on matchweek eight, and Cristiano Ronaldo still has not scored a La Liga goal. He’s starting to give Messi an insurmountable lead in the race for the Pichichi trophy for La Liga’s top goalscorer. And given Messi’s recent heroics for the Argentinian National Team, it doesn’t look he’s slowing down any time soon.

Fortunately for Ronaldo, Getafe have a history of conceding goals to the Dark Invader; He’s got a total of 20 goals in 12 games against Getafe. Let’s hope Ronaldo can finally start to tally some goals in La Liga. Because when Ronaldo scores, good things happen for Madrid.
