Goalkeeper and Defence

Kiko Casilla: 6.5/10 – Kiko gave up three goals in his first start in the Champions League since fall 2016, but it’s hard to blame him for giving up the goals. It was impossible to stop Dele Alli’s first goal, the second bounced off Sergio Ramos, and the Eriksen goal was a thing of beauty. He stopped 3 shots and did what he could to keep his team in the game, but it wasn’t enough.

Achraf Hakimi: 6.5/10 – The young fullback again had a big ask filling in for the injured Dani Carvajal on the right side and didn’t make much of an impact in this match. He was caught out of position time and time again and failed to provide any quality crosses into the middle like Dani usually does. The youngster still has a lot to learn

Sergio Ramos: 6/10 – Yet another lethargic outing from the captain of the Real Madrid squad, Ramos. Sergio was slow to close down Harry Kane, Dele, and other Spurs attackers especially in the first half. Sergio was then caught in no man’s land for the second goal from Spurs and saw the ball bounce off his leg and into the back of the net. Overall, a terrible night for the center back.

Nacho: 7/10 – While his performance wasn’t anything special, he was probably the best defender in the side. Nacho time and time again was the only Real player running to cover the back. He made several impressive slide tackles and stopped some good chances from Kane but, his lack of effort on tracking down a ball led to Tottenham’s first goal.

Marcelo: 6.5/10 – I wouldn’t list Marcelo as a defender in this match if he wasn’t considered one. The Brazilian played the majority of the match above the midfield line and was constantly out of position in this match. What’s more, he failed to provide any true chances on the offensive end either.
