Tuesday’s Real Links: Angry Ronaldo
By Ben Sundock
Welcome to a brand new daily series here on The Real Champs! Everyday, I will take a handful of stories from across the web covering Real Madrid news, news across La Liga, and news on Champions League teams and compile it into one amazing article. You’ll also see my goal of the day pick. Without further delay, let’s dive into the first ever Real Links!
Goal of the Day
This is a mind-blowing goal on so many levels. First off, Adam Reach has been so on fire it’s hard to put into words. In his last three matches, he’s scored 3 goals, and earned himself 2 Man of the Match awards while leading Sheffield Wednesday to two wins and a draw.
Second, this goal against Aston Villa came a stunning 18 seconds into the match! 18 seconds! Sheffield hung on to win 2-1 on the road and Reach provided one of the best goals I’ve seen this year on any level. My goodness, what a strike.
Real Madrid Links
“Google Cristiano goals, you see all of mine there”
This story is nearly a week old but I wanted to include it in today’s links because I think it is just so funny.
Following Real’s disappointing loss at Tottenham last Wednesday in the Champions League, an angry Cristiano Ronaldo gave a heated response to the media.
“My stats don’t matter. I am super calm,” he said. “Nowadays it doesn’t count for you journalists if you produce a big performance. You just look at goals, goals, goals. The stats are over there. I won’t speak about that, because if you type into Google ‘Cristiano goals’ there’s everything there, so it doesn’t affect me at all.”
Oh, Cristiano, you beast you.
Cristiano is mad at Isco for not celebrating with him
Yes, all the links on Real Madrid today are centered around Cristiano Ronaldo. It won’t be like this everyday I assure you.
According to ESPN correspondent, Dermot Corrigan, Ronaldo was mad with his teammate, Isco, for not celebrating with him and thanking him for providing an assist on the third and final goal against Las Palmas.
So much drama.
Ronaldo guarantees he will outscore Messi
He always has a cocky air about him, but this might be the cockiest thing CR7 has ever said. The Portuguese international told his teammates ahead of the international break this weekend that he would win the Pichichi award.
This award is given to the top goalscorer in La Liga each season. How confident is Ronaldo he will beat out his rival Leo Messi despite his slowest start in front of goal with Real Madrid?
So confident he made a bet with his teammates. The details of the bet are unclear but I am certain it is something absurd.
Zidane expects every player to be healthy for Atletico match, except Kovacic
The international break comes at a great time for Zizou and the club.
Zidane expects to have Gareth Bale, Rafa Varane, Keylor Navas, and maybe even Dani Carvajal all back in time for the Madrid Derby on November 18th.
The only player who is expected to remain out, is Mateo Kovacic who continues to rehab from a significant abductor tear back in mid-September.
