Here’s why Manchester City fans boo the UCL anthem
Manchester City fans have been noticeably booing the UEFA Champions League anthem before home matches. Why you might ask?
Because City fans are frustrated with how UEFA handled their punishment due to a violation of Financial Fair Play rules in 2014. The club was fined a stunning £49 million and that money was rumored to have been given to other Champions League clubs.
I would be angry too.
Don’t look now, but here comes FK Qarabag!
The only side from the Azerbijian league Premyer Liqa, FK Qarabag, is in the midst of a great run of form.
Since losing to Chelsea 6-0 in London, and 2-1 to Roma at home, back-to-back draws with Atletico Madrid have kept this Qarabag side in the race to qualify out of Group C in the Champions League.
If they can win or draw with Chelsea in a few weeks, they stay alive in the group. If they lose, Chelsea qualifies for the knockout stage and Qarabag is sent packing. I’ll be rooting for the Azerbijian side in this match for sure.
Lisbon or Istanbul will host the 2020 UCL Final
We are down to two cities who could host the final in 2020. Lisbon or Istanbul.
Which would be the better host city? And will Real Madrid be back there to compete? Let us know on Twitter, Facebook, or in the comments!
