Real Madrid Welsh forward Gareth Bale has suffered yet another leg injury after returning to training just a few days ago. The new injury will keep him sidelined for an undisclosed amount of time.
Let me begin by saying that Gareth Bale has been one of my favorite signings at Real Madrid. In his first season with the club, the speedy winger could do no wrong.
He scored the game-winning goals in both the Copa Del Rey final against FC Barcelona on an unreal run the length of the field, and headed in a rebound shot in extra which proved to be the game-winner in the Champions League Final against Atletico Madrid.
Both of those incredible individual displays came in the 2013/2014 season.
Here we are now in the 2017/2018 and Bale has missed over half of his games the last two seasons.
Bale has been out this season since September 26th when he pulled his calf muscle against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League fixture. In that time, the 28-year-old has missed 8 matches and was preparing to make a return after the international break against Atletico.
That will not happen now as Bale has suffered yet another injury setback.
It was announced early Friday that Gareth was feeling some discomfort in his left leg after completing training Thursday.
Tests carried out by the team revealed a new leg injury for the Welsh international. Here’s the official statement from the club.
"“Our player Gareth Bale, who felt some discomfort in his left leg at the end of Thursday’s training session, today underwent various tests carried out by the Real Madrid Sanitas medical team. He has been diagnosed with a strain to the middle third of the adductor longus muscle in his left leg. His recovery will continue to be assessed.”"
Bale has made just nine appearances in all competitions this year with Real Madrid, and if the injury is as serious as believed by club doctors, he could miss another month of matches. Meaning, he will have missed over half the matches this season with leg problems.
The strain in the thigh muscle comes just three days after he was cleared to return to training. It’s clear that Real Madrid fans are becoming increasingly frustrated with Bale’s continued injury problems as seen on Twitter.
Bale, when fit & firing, is a very influential and important player. But these injuries have ruined the positives he has had on the team. It is unacceptable that a 100-million euro player plays less than half of the team’s matches every season.

Sorry to say it but, time to leave. pic.twitter.com/f6CNQTP290
It's been 200 days (!!!!!!) since the BBC of Karim Benzema, Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale started a game for Real Madrid.

I am right there with everyone who is frustrated with Gareth Bale’s leg problems. Something is clearly not right.
This will be the fourth time since he’s arrived at Real Madrid that he has missed over 5 weeks with a leg injury. It’s truly hard to believe a player could be so unlucky.
We will continue to monitor his status. Let’s hope it won’t be another month without the Welsh Dragon.
