Wednesday’s edition of ‘The Real Links’ features the comeback story of Dani Carvajal, Atheltic Bilbao trying to keep Kepa away from Real Madrid, and reliving the worst team in Premier League history 10 years later. Let’s jump in!

Goal of the Day

Although Spain would ultimately draw in Tuesday’s friendly with Russia, there were some very impressive showings from La Liga players, and more importantly, Real Madrid players.

Marco Asensio took this beautiful touch on a cross-field pass, and then whipped in a picture-perfect cross right onto the lunging head of FC Barcelona foe, Jordi Alba to the Spanish up 1-0 less than 10 minutes in.

Asensio had a field day down the right wing, creating several chances and leading the build up on multiple occasions.

This is what this young kid from Mallorca is capable of. We shouldn’t be surprised at this point.

Dani Carvajal worried his heart infection could end his career

When the news broke that Dani was out indefinitely with a heart condition in late September, I feared the worst. Dealing with a heart problem is never a good thing. Especially in the physically demanding world of football.

“I was scared and I thought that, if it was serious, I would have to retire,” Carvajal explained in an interview this week.

“The first three or four weeks were the worst because I practically couldn’t do anything, I couldn’t raise my heart rate in any way and it was very low.”

While he isn’t expected to be back in time to face Atletico Madrid on Saturday, the right-back is expecting to be ready to go for Real’s grueling December schedule.

Vinicius is doing crazy things while playing in Brazil (still)

16-years-old and one of the most gifted players I think I’ve ever seen. He’s tall, fast, a great dribbler, and has unreal endurance.

Although he isn’t a regular starter for his current club, Flamengo, Vinicius dazzles at every opportunity he gets to play.

He did that Monday against Palmeiras with this crazy move.

Dani Ceballos and Borja Mayoral shine for Spain U-21 team

Despite a relatively quiet start to his career with Real Madrid, Dani Ceballos is still an incredibly gifted scorer as he showed with the Spanish U-21 this week in the Euro U-21 tournament qualifying match against Slovakia.

A nifty little hat-trick capped off by a crazy spin and finish? I’ll take that!

In Spain’s 5-1 win, Borja Mayoral managed to get on the score sheet bagging the final goal of the match with a nice finish.

Sergio Ramos fires back at reporter for Ronaldo question

Sergio Ramos has a short temper.

We have seen it on the field just a couple of times (actually we have seen it in the 12 times since 2009 Ramos has received a red card), but who’s counting?

When asked for his thoughts about the rumors of Cristiano wanting to leave Real Madrid this coming summer, Ramos had just a two-word response: “Ask him”.
