Ranking the 32 teams that qualified for the 2018 World Cup

Overall, I have to agree with these rankings. Other than Iran at 26, I think these rankings are solid.

Spain at #3 is a good place, and Germany at #1 is not surprising seeing they are the defending world champions.

I think the darkhorse in this World Cup will be Nigeria, who sit 18th in the power rankings. Alex Iwobi and Kelechi Iheanacho have been playing great and could help the African nation make a push for the knockout rounds. This is, of course, depending on their group as they sit in pot 4.

Meaning, they’ll face some very good opponents in the group stage.

Jose Mourinho thinks Premier League schedule hurts British sides in UCL

Jose is always in the news saying something to make people angry. Today, it was his criticism of the Premier League December schedule hurting teams that are also competing in the Champions League.

Unlike other leagues, the EPL plays an absurd amount of matches between Christmas Eve and New Year’s Day as they try to maximize on fans not having to work or go to school.

While as a fan, it is the best time of year with league matches every 3 to 4 days, teams struggle with fitness with so many matches with such little turnaround time.

When asked if he thinks an English side can make a run at the UCL title, Mou was very direct.

"“I don’t think so because I always say the Champions League only starts in February. And in February, the English teams are after December and January where we can play 20 matches over two months and the Germans, the French, the Spanish, the Italians, they all come from a winter break. So I think they arrive in better conditions than the English teams. It’s also a fact that any match you play in this country, if you don’t go strong, you lose.”"

Classic Mou.
