After suffering yet another injury setback, is Gareth Bale’s time at Real Madrid coming to an abrupt end? No, and here’s why.
The fans are angry, the players are angry, and I am frustrated. I know the terrible streak Bale has had over the last four years in the Spanish capital having suffered 19 different injuries in his short time with Real Madrid.
But, this is a gifted player who whenever he is 100% seems to always be involved in goals whether it’s assists or scoring incredible goals like he did in his last match before getting injured against Borussia Dortmund.

The above tweet shows the problems Bale has faced since joining the Spanish side. It is truly depressing to see a guy suffered so many injuries in such a short period of time. While this is reason for Madridistas to be fed up with Gareth Bale, hold on just a minute and listen.
Bale has been a huge asset to this team and the club over the last four years. That is despite all the injuries.
He scored the game-winning goals in the Copa Del Rey final against Barcelona in 2014 as well as the Champions League final game-winning goal against Atletico Madrid in extra time. Since, he hasn’t had an important goal in a final like that, but look at his entire body of work in the last three years when he is able to play.
From the fall of 2014 until today, Bale has made 106 appearances in La Liga and Champions League play, scoring 46 goals and providing 28 assists. His best season at Real Madrid, other than his incredible run in 2013/2014, was the 2015/2016 season where the Welsh Dragon scored 19 goals and added 10 assists while playing 23 matches in La Liga.
The stats don’t lie, when this guy is in the lineup, he produces. The problem, of course, is not only his long-term health, but his day-to-day health.

It has gotten to the point where everytime I see Gareth on the field and he falls or jostles for a ball, I hold my breath, hoping he doesn’t suddenly drop to the grass grabbing at his leg. The Real Madrid board, however, doesn’t seem to have any doubts about Bale’s long-term problems and recent injury problems.
According to a report from Marca, the board has voiced their undying support for Bale and want to keep him in Madrid through the end of his current deal that is set to run until the summer of 2022 at least.
I like that move from the board and respect their loyalty to Bale in this tough time. Real Madrid, as a club, has been criticized by a few former players as not being loyal to their players and trying to make money off their image and sales, but that is not the case here.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Gareth Bale isn’t going anywhere and fans who dislike him and his poor injury streak will just have to suck it up because he’s not leaving anytime soon.
