We’re still a couple weeks away from the transfer window opens, but why not just ask Santa for a January transfer window present? Can Real Madrid sign Mohamed Salah?

Ladies and gentleman, it’s that time of year again, the time where we rest and relax, but behind the scenes, there is more than what meets the eye. The Madrid board has lots of planning for the year to come, money to be budgeted, initiatives to be considered, and goals to be set.

You probably think I’m talking about the holiday’s right? Wrong! Madridistas it’s the January transfer window. Yes, the Real Champs know it is still December, so just as how the #NewYearNewMe posts are to come, the rumor mill is churning just as fast.

Mohamed Salah

For the past few months, many Madrid fans have been in a deep depression filled with resentment and regret, but this transfer window may wipe those tears clean off. If you haven’t heard of him yet this season you’re either living under a rock or care solely about Madrid, the latter we would never complain about.

Mohamed Salah is an Egyptian national who plays his club football as a winger for Liverpool and a stars for his National squad as well. The 25-year-old has become a hot prospect across Europe with brilliant performances in multiple competitions. The Egyptian’s professional career started just six years ago, making it to Europe in 2012.

Since then, Salah has pinged around Europe like a Toni Kroos corner, just not with the same stability, having been thrown into a few loan spells, numerous transfers, and not always being a part of the starting XI.

Squad Placement

This past summer Salah left the Italian capital of Rome where he played for AS Roma in favor of the Premier League. Mohamed has settled into his new role and club like a glove along with creating a fierce front line with his new teammates. Dubbed the Fab Four, Salah leads his club with 20 goals thus far.

Just halfway through the season, Salah is putting up numbers many strikers at the biggest clubs in Europe’s top flight have yet to produce. Currently, Salah has played primarily down the right wing, where his stats have been incredible.

"“He is still young, improving all the time. I don’t talk much about other players, but he is a player I rate a lot.” -Zidane on Salah"

Lately, Zidane’s lineup has consisted of a Ronaldo-Benzema front two or front three where Isco has been placed on the right-wing but given a free roaming role. This formation is of course due to Gareth Bale who has been absent for some time now.

Marco Asensio and Lucas Vasquez have been the common substitutes for Isco thus far, but the arrival of Salah could change all that, in addition to the Bale departure rumors stirring up again.

In a post-match presser declaring Real Madrid Club World Cup title holders once again, President Florentino Perez made an unlikely appearance. It’s not every day that the President of a Goliath football club makes himself available to the press. Given that Real Madrid had claimed their fifth title this year and in the spirit of the holiday season, Perez was feeling a little generous.

When asked about Real Madrid’s plan for this January transfer window President Perez said that “everything can be improved but when things are working well, sometimes it’s best not to interfere”.  Perez continued on to praise the current Madrid squad trying to express stability and structure within the organization.

Additionally, Zidane too took to the microphone to express his content with Los Blanco’s current personnel. His praise in the post-match interview of the CWC touched on the success he’s had at the club and despite the rough times, Madrid has found a way to pull through under his reigns.

"“We have that dream. We have won our fifth this year and we will keep on. Now we must enjoy, rest up and think about the rest of the season. We must enjoy this moment, it really is fantastic.” -Zidane on the CWC Victory"

    Conclusion

The transfer window is always a discussion that is kept under tight wraps at the Bernabéu. Come the New Year, we will be refreshing the official Madrid website to see who may be walking through the doors at the Valdebebas or who may be walking out them.
