Ronaldo Replacement & Future Planning

It’s certainly not something Madrid fans like to think about, the thought of Ronaldo leaving the Bernabéu, whether it be through a transfer or retiring. Losing Ronaldo is almost like your first break up, it will sting initially but in the end, it will be nothing but good memories (we hope of course).

Hazard may not be an out of this world player, but he does bring some similar qualities. Hazard like CR7 plays on the left wing, where he is most effective as well as cutting into the right with a killer shot. Like Ronaldo, Hazard can be the face of Madrid and help carry the team to success.

Reinforcing the Attack

Ronaldo nor Karim Benzema have been anywhere near their previous selves when it comes to La Liga play. Bringing in Hazard could help with that deficit, playing him in his natural position of a left-winger or as a false 9 in place of Benzema. Hazard’s numbers are better than Cristiano and Benzema’s, almost if you were to combine them as well.

More from The Real Champs

In the Premier League, Hazard boasts some impressive stats. He has played 18 games, scoring 6 times and racking up 2 assists. Granted the Portuguese star missed the first 4 games of the league campaign due to injury, has played 13 games scoring 4 times and picked up 2 assists. Karim Benzema, one of the most criticized players right now at Madrid, has played 12 games with just 2 goals and assists.

We could keep going on and on about how ineffective both Ronaldo and Benzema have been, but a simple minutes per goal stat will show that in bold fashion. Hazard scores a goal every three games, more specifically every 200 minutes of play, Ronaldo sits at a goal every 289 minutes and Benzema at a goal every 442 minutes.

Personal Agenda

In the Premier League, Eden Hazard is known as one of the elite players. However, in order to win the Balon D’or, he will need to step up his game. What better way to do that than moving to one of the most prolific teams in the world?

The Belgian’s personal hunger for titles will give him the drive and vigor that Real Madrid requires of their players and especially at this point in time, need. Making the move to Madrid would give him the spotlight to showcase his talents. Yes, La Liga is competitive but not nearly as much as the Premier League.

Hazard would be able to wreak havoc on his opponents, bettering his goal and assist tally. What could be better than a player that has his own personal drive and will do that for the club?

Hazard is already 27-years old and moving into his older years, however, once he slows down in speed, his ball control and passing will keep him relevant and clinical. He would be able to drop deeper into the midfield in a more Modric like role as the mastermind of the attack.
