Marco Asensio’s goal breaks his long drought
The young kid from Mallorca has been known to score incredible goals regularly. That has not been the case for Marco since early November. His last golazo came on November 5th against Las Palmas as he scored a screamer from outside the box.
Despite appearing in nearly every Real Madrid match since then, Marco has been unable to find the back of the net. After putting in a good effort for the first 88 minutes of Thursday’s match, it was a well-deserved volley goal that saw Marco finally break his 69-day goal-drought.
This comes at a crucial time not only for Asensio, but for Zidane as well. The one-piece Real has lacked all season is a go-to goalscorer. Ronaldo has not been himself and with Marco finding the back of the net against Leganes, there is a chance he could again return to his usual goalscoring form.
Marco is an all-around midfielder who helps build up attacks, passes the ball with incredible precision, and scores incredible goals.

With his goal in this match, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him get back to the form of 2016/2017.
Expect to see Marco in the starting XI more and more in the coming weeks.
