Attack

Gareth Bale – 9.5

Gareth Bale was the embodiment of a Welsh Dragon against Deportivo and it was absolutely imperious. Bale had two goals on the night urging Madrid forward and onto a win. His first goal was an absolute world-class curler and the second a typical Bale header. The match against Deportivo makes this his second game this month with two goals. It looks like he can be the saving grace for Madrid.

Borja Mayoral – 6.5

The young striker had a great chance early on in the match to score but did not catch the ball on the volley clean enough to put it past the goalie. Unfortunately for the Spaniard, that was the only glimpse we saw of him. That being said, it is not easy to shine when eight of the nine other outfield players in the starting XI were involved in a scoring play. Maybe his presence in the Copa Del Rey will suit him better as he plays amongst some of the younger Madrid players.

Cristiano Ronaldo – 9.7

It’s been a few seasons now where the critics have said Ronaldo is done, but yet again, he’s on his way to silencing them. Ronaldo certainly had several chances to seal a hat trick, but he made up for it in another department. With two goals and an assist, CR7 was the only player to contribute both a goal and assist as well as matching a few other team members with three dribbles. In scoring his second goal Ronaldo took a boot to the head which cut him a little deeper than normal and forced him to leave the match early to get stitched up.
