Real Madrid’s Wednesday training session saw several players return as the team continues to prepare for Saturday’s away match against Levante. Here is a full update.

Wednesday afternoon’s training session saw Sergio Ramos, Raphael Varane, Isco, and Gareth Bale all return to team activities three days before Los Blancos face Levante. Isco and Bale were limited in training Tuesday with Isco recovering from a knock picked up in training late last week with Bale’s status unknown.

Gareth spent Tuesday’s session off the field working alone in the gym while Isco went through a light training regimen today. Isco’s return indicates the midfielder is fit enough to be in the squad Saturday.

Sergio Ramos was limited in training Tuesday and was again limited today as neither he nor Rafa Varane completed the full session, however, Ramos is getting closer and closer to returning to the lineup with Varane still recovering.

Cristiano Ronaldo worked alone inside with no media access but this is not cause for concern. Cristiano often works on technique or fitness alone inside at least once a week to keep form.

While Zinedine Zidane will be happy to see players like Ramos, Isco, and Varane back training, center back Jesús Vallejo and Dani Ceballos are still working their way back from injuries suffered just days apart.

Ceballos suffered a sprained ankle nearly a week and a half ago and is expected to be back in full training sometime before the weekend’s fixture. That being said, Dani is still not expected to be back in the squad until next weekend’s home match against Real Sociedad.

Vallejo’s road back is much more uncertain after he suffered a hamstring injury in the first leg of the Copa Del Rey quarterfinal a couple weeks back.

Zidane called up several academy players to train with the first-team as Alvaro Tejero, Oscar Rodriguez, and Franchu all participated in the full session. Academy goalkeepers Dario Ramos and Moha Ramos also trained alongside Keylor Navas and Kiko Casilla.

Next: Real Madrid will make no signings this transfer window

Real will have two more training sessions to prepare for the match Saturday night at Levante as the team looks to make it three wins in a row in La Liga play.
