Real Madrid President Perez admitted that bids have been made for youngster Marco Asensio but he’s holding him near and dear despite the cash it could bring. Here’s a look at how it went down.
Marco Asensio has become one of the hottest talents in Europe and is being sought out by the biggest clubs in the continent.
In just a few seasons with Real Madrid, the youngster has proven that he can be the future of the club. With rumors flying that Eden Hazard is a key target of Real Madrid, many Premier League clubs have taken note and been on the chase.
Asensio became a part of Real Madrid on July 1, 2015, but was then loaned out to Espanyol in August of that year. After his loan spell had been completed, Marco was a part of the first team at Madrid. The Spaniard has been a dazzling star since that time boasting some incredible stats at just 22 years of age.
Since his rise, he has only peaked the interest of more teams. Last week Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo broke the news that a €150 million offer by Liverpool was made for Asensio’s services. The likely result of this proposal is due to the departure of Philippe Coutinho.
In unconventional fashion, President Florentino Perez admitted this after yesterday’s 3-1 victory to PSG. Though Perez did not disclose the exact amount offered by the English club, he did confirm that the attempt was rejected. Florentino was in no mood to hold back saying that “If somebody wants to sign Asensio, his price-tag is €700 million,” per Teamtalk.
"“I think with Marco we could have a world-class player.” – Vicente Del Bosque on Marco Asensio"
If Perez and the board at Real Madrid are smart, they will do anything to hold on to Asensio who has now also been linked with Chelsea.

Marco has a bright future ahead of us and yesterday was just another example of how impactful he can be. With just 11 minutes of playing time he assisted a goal to Marcelo and was cause for Ronaldo’s second.
