Progression

So much is being talked up about the big move of a superstar into the club in the summer, however, is that really necessary?

Aside from Karim, the rest of the attackers all seem to be firing, finally. The other big point is that there are young stars at this club already who once given the correct amount of time to shine, will no doubt be trophy-winning players.

None of those young stars shine brighter than Marco Asensio.

He is an attacking dynamo. His blistering speed combined with his supernatural talent has made him the perfect player for Madrid moving forward.

He’s incredibly versatile, being able to play across the front-line comfortably. His solid work ethic will mean stability on the flanks, it all fits together.

This season he is Madrid’s third highest goalscorer behind only Bale and Ronaldo – he is also the sixth highest in terms of assists in the team.

He’s single-handedly won games for Real Madrid this season and has also stepped up in times previously where it looked like the team would struggle. Given the chance, Asensio could be the difference the club needs not just this season, but for many seasons to come.
