My Thoughts

Real Madrid’s win didn’t come easily by any means, but it’s matches like this that we remember. It was a great performance by all members of the squad. The cohesion was present, especially in the first half, coupled with incisive passing, and quick movement.

Much like what right-back Dani Carvajal had said, the team did take a step back in conceding early but made sure to leap forward and fast. More often than we’d like to admit we see Real desperately flighting balls into the box during the last 10 minutes of the match trying to salvage a point. Thankfully, business was dealt with in a swift manner this time around.

The team is in high spirits stringing four consecutive wins together and keeping the momentum going. With a tough season that has not gone as expected, this boost of confidence will do the players wonders as they keep pushing for the Champions League title.

This Saturday Los Blancos will play host to lowly Alaves. Zidane did a good job in rotating the squad against Leganes, but stirring the pot more will be beneficial. With both, Toni Kroos and Luka Modric injured it would be great to see players like Dani Ceballos and Marcos Llorente put some more minutes under their belt.
