Real Madrid has been plagued with injuries since the Champions League fixture against Paris Saint-Germain just last week. With three first-team players unavailable what is the solution, and where does Zinedine Zidane go from here?

It seems like every year this happens to Real Madrid, and on more than one occasion over the course of the season sadly. After picking up some steam despite a woeful season in the domestic league, Madrid has been handed a setback, thrice.

Since the Champions League match at the Bernabéu exactly a week ago, three first-team players have sustained injuries: Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, and Marcelo.

The focus is, of course, on the Champions League as Madrid find themselves what feels like a million points behind league leaders Barcelona. In the eyes of anyone else, a fourth place standing is respectable. But this is Real Madrid; it’s not your typical club.

With all the cards on the table, Lady Luck has decided to throw a joker in the deck which resulted in the loss of three key Real Madrid players. Los Blancos now have four matches in La Liga before the return leg with PSG. In this article, I look at each injured player, and see how Zidane can replace them to help Madrid dig deeper in the push for a 13th Champions League title.
