Keylor Navas is fighting for his place

As we move closer to the summer window, rumors are coming in far and thick that Real Madrid will make a move for David De Gea or Thibaut Courtois. Either way, Navas is set to lose his No. 1 spot with Los Blancos.

Navas has had a tumultuous season, with some fatal errors turning the supporters against him. It’s also fair to say that he has had more downs than ups this season, costing a few points for his team. He hasn’t really touched the pinnacle that was his performance in the 2015/16 season, which had convinced Zidane to not make a move for De Gea that year.

However, he has said time and again that he will fight until the end for his place at Real Madrid.

He is doing just that. He made some crucial saves against Alavés, displaying shades of his agility and athleticism that Madridistas used to love him for. He has been fairly solid this entire month.

It seems like a repeat of last year where he bucked up at the end and played a crucial role in winning trophies. Whether he continues the run is yet to be seen. But it is certain that he will fight tooth and nail to remain the No. 1 at Real Madrid. It may be more difficult for him this summer though.
