Midfield

Lucas Vazquez – 8

While Vazquez was a little slow to get into the attack in the first-half, he made up for it after the intermission. The winger, who played as a midfielder, did well to get up the pitch and had great runs off the ball. Lucas continues to lead his side with 13 assists as he placed the ball on a platter for Ronaldo.

More from The Real Champs

Casemiro – 9

This will surely be one of Casemiro’s most memorable performances. Not only was the Brazilian strong in the midfield, but he also read the play and covered for Real Madrid’s defense when they were short on numbers. Casemiro was a thorn in the attack of PSG and a nuisance to Edison Cavani all night. The defensive midfielder has proven that he is a critical player for Real. Casemiro had five tackles, three clearances, and sealed his stunning performance with a goal.

Mateo Kovacic – 8

Kova started in place of Luka Modric who is still recovering from injury. Many could see that as a gamble but he did well in his role. Mateo paired up with Casemiro almost like two defensive midfielders such that when one went up the other stayed behind. This worked wonders as Kovacic had four tackles and two interceptions. His misjudgment at one point led to a yellow card but he kept his composure to play well rather than backing down.

Marco Asensio – 7.5

While this wasn’t the Spaniards brightest performance, he got the job done and created chances for his side. He dropped back often to help diminish the attack of PSG and passed with an incredible 94% accuracy. Asensio played his part as his through ball to Lucas Vazquez led to the Ronaldo goal.
