La Liga match preview: SD Eibar vs. Real Madrid

Real Madrid will travel to the Basque country to take on Eibar Saturday afternoon. Here is everything you need to know about the La Liga clash.

After putting the Champions League Round of 16 to bed, Real Madrid will resume their La Liga duties. Real Madrid will be away to 8th place Eibar in an early Saturday kickoff. Real is currently sitting 3rd in the La Liga table, 7 points behind Atletico Madrid.

La Liga is all but lost and Real should look to win as many points as possible. Real Madrid’s away form this season has been worrying, winning just three of their last nine away games in La Liga. As a result, Real Madrid is 15 points behind Barcelona and things need to change.

Eibar is currently gunning for a Europa League spot. They have been brilliant at home, winning six out of the last nine games. The side from Bilbao has stolen all three points from four sides sitting above them in La Liga at home.

They have consistently shown a winning mentality at their home ground, Estadio Ipurua, which is the smallest pitch in La Liga. Mendilibar’s men would love to inflict some pain to Los Blancos. The encounter on Saturday will not be an easy outing for Real Madrid and Eibar will test them.
