Yes he’s only 17-years-old and his arrival to Real Madrid is still not known, but the future is very bright for Vinicius Junior. Here is why Madridistas should be excited for the Brazilian to join the team.
The hefty price tag president Florentino Perez decided to pay to Brazilian club Flamengo was staggering. €45 million for a kid is jaw-dropping.
But, based off of his recent run of form, Vinicius Junior has the potential to be one of the best players to come out of Brazil. Since agreeing to join Real Madrid nearly a year ago, the Spanish media has kept close tabs on how the young midfielder/winger performs in the Brazilian league.
Here is a little sample of how he is doing.
It was a world-class performance from Vinicius in the Copa Libertadores against Emelec as he came on as a substitute in the second half and led Flamengo to a 2-1 win thanks to two stunning goals that left the Emelec crowd silent.
It’s hard to decide which goal was better, however; the one above or the game-winner.
Both goals came within 20 minutes of entering the match as he scored the first and second goals just seven minutes apart after his team was unable to score for 68 minutes.
Despite the increased pressure and expectation of many fans in Spain and Brazil, the 17-year-old wonderkid has continued to put on a show. He has three goals in league play despite making just four starts in 25 matches and two goals in his only appearance in the Libertadores.
The swagger and raw skill this kid possesses should have Real Madrid fans extremely excited and anxious for him to hop into an already talented lineup.
I can already tell you that I am a huge fan of Vinicius Junior. The pace, dribbling, and finishing ability he possesses at such a young age is hard to believe. Right now, he is proving to the world that he is worth the money Real Madrid decided to pay.

Plus, the comparisons to being the next Neymar have already begun.
This kid knows how to celebrate a big goal too. We may have to wait another year to see him put on the white shirt, but for now, we can enjoy his incredible skill while he continues to mature in Brazil.
