Real Madrid center-back Sergio Ramos and attacking midfielder Isco both picked up a knock during the international break last week. Here is a look at their progress and details on how the recovery is coming.

Sergio Ramos and Isco both joined the Spanish National Team during the international break as they participated in two friendly matches. Both had wonderful performances with their team and reached great milestones. Sergio Ramos made his 150th cap for his country while Isco had an incredible hat-trick.

While there was no apparent injury during a match, both were listed as injured, causing them to miss the match at Las Palmas Saturday. Upon returning to Madrid, the two had trained away from the squad while focusing on their recovery ahead of the clash with Juventus.

According to a release on the oficial Real Madrid page, both players are now training and ready to go. The Spaniards traveled with the squad to Italy ahead of the Champions League quarterfinal first leg. Both are likely to participate in the match with Ramos captaining and leading the back line, while Isco will help build the attack.

Both players were important to last years Champions League success as Madrid had played Juventus. Having them back is a great boost to the squad on both ends of the pitch.

Sergio Ramos proved to be an absolute menace for the attack of Juventus as they were held to just one goal in Cardiff. His leadership along with strong tackling paved the way to Madrid’s 12th Champions League title.

While Isco has struggled to rack up minutes in the second half of the season, he is likely to start the game tomorrow after performing well with Spain. He did a great job unlocking the defense of Juve last season with smart movement on and off the ball.

His dribbling and ability to draw in multiple defenders will free up space for Madrid’s other attackers.
