Real Madrid completely dismantled Juventus in the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinals Tuesday night. Thanks to two goals from Cristiano Ronaldo and an insurance tap in from Marcelo, Los Blancos will take a 3-0 led back to Madrid next week. Here is a quick recap of the match.

First Half

It only took Cristiano Ronaldo three minutes to open the scoring as the Portuguese beast turned in a picture perfect cross from Isco. Using the outside of the boot, CR7 curved the ball into the far corner of the net, well past the outstretched hands of Gigi Buffon.

The goal broke several long standing records as Ronaldo tallied in the Champions League for the 10th straight game, the longest streak by a player ever.

He has also now scored in every match he has played against Juventus – tallying four in his last two matches against the Old Lady.

Despite jumping out to an early lead, Juve would not go away as Paulo Dybala nearly set former Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain up for the tying goal. But, it was Keylor Navas who stepped up big and made an incredible save point blank on the Argentine.

Navas made just two saves on the night, but this was by far the biggest of the match and maybe of the season. Had Higuain scored to tie the match up in the 23rd minute, who knows what the final score would’ve been.

Toni Kroos nearly made it 2-0 for Los Blancos in the 35th minute with a driven shot from outside the box that beat Buffon, but could not sneak under the crossbar as the ball missed the back of the net by just a few inches.

Paulo Dybala thought he drew a penalty just before halftime, but was instead called for a dive and picked up a yellow card for embellishment.
